Meet Taylor and Garrett!
When Taylor and I met up for coffee to chat about their wedding day, we spent a couple hours talking about her and Garrett's relationship and I instantly knew that I wanted to be a part of their wedding day. Their love for each other and passion for serving God was so evident from the moment I met them.
When the wedding day rolled around, I knew that it was going to be something special because the weather was incredibly nice with a lovely high of 80 degrees in the middle of the hottest summer months. Every detail of their wedding perfectly suited Taylor and Garrett's relationship. From the music that played as Taylor walked down the aisle to the beautiful invitations that brought together their closest family and friends, every detail was significant.
The most memorable part of the day was when Garrett cried seeing his stunning bride as she walked down the aisle toward him. They were both so intentional with their vows and commitment they made to one another to stand by their spouse through all that life may throw at them. I so enjoyed learning their love story and am so excited to share it here. Enjoy this couple's gorgeous photos and sweet love story narrated by Taylor herself.
Garrett and I met sophomore year at the library while we were attending college. We were in completely different places at the time and a relationship did not form until a few years later. Over the next couple of years God worked in our hearts and when we crossed paths again two years later we clicked instantly. We got to know each other’s hearts very quickly and realized we both wanted to serve God and make him known. After three months of dating we knew we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together.
We decided to wait at least a year to get engaged to deepen our relationship. At around the one year mark I was expecting him to propose but was not expecting what he had planned. We were out on a lunch date together and in the middle of our date I was kidnapped by some of our friends. They were dressed like secret service agents. They took me to all the significant spots of our most memorable dates. At each location a person was waiting with a love poem leading me to my next clue and next location. The last and final clue lead me to the location of our very first date, Seven-Islands Bird Watching Park in Knoxville, TN. Garret had laid out stones that spelled out verses from 1 Corinthians 13. I followed a path up to this little white house and there were candles everywhere. All of our closest friends were there and one of them was playing worship music with Garret's guitar. His friend prayed over us and after the prayer Garret proposed to me and asked me to be his wife.
Garrett is my best friend and everyday is a new adventure with him. I am so excited to spend the rest of my life with him. The most precious thing about our wedding day was the moment when we said our vows to one another. Hearing our promises and committing our wholes lives to one another was the best part of the whole day. It is something we can look back on and remember with clarity, especially when times get hard between us.
